Hello to you in the 2021.
Very long time I hadn't post anything about Moldova. I wasn't sure if it's wort it or not. Now I came to the conclussion that I share with you the life of Moldovian people and families.
The photos you will see here are taking in the first half of the 2020, when the Covid-19 started. About 5 months, March-July, I spent in Moldova.
Because I was in the village most of the time, you will see how the springs starts here, how everything comes to life.
Enjoy.

This is my house. It doesn't have a toilet and a shower yet, but it will get there.
This year we planted beans, corn, chic-peas and some flowers on the yard around the house.

In Moldova many women like to keep room flowers. Here are some. At times one may see more flowers in a house than furniture.

This is the festivity salon in the village. It is something new, recently open, but because of covid there weren't any festivities.

A tipycal Moldovan house. With vines in the front yard, serving as a shadow during summer days, and various ornaments and characters embeded on the houses walls.

This are my mom's cats, Puffica and Negrutz. Puffica is a great hunter, she hunts for mice, rats and even birds. Negrutz it's a lazy boy.

In the spring, the trees and vines get trimed, dry trees and vines get cut off un dug up. All those branches needed choped of and put away, to be used when needed. I got the owner of handeling the ax and choping branches.

This is our transportation. This horse belongs to my uncle's friend, they call him Dimon, their are helping each other so my uncle can use the horse for the home needs. Look like uncle forgot to give some food to this beautiful horse.

In the winters women sit in their homes next to heaters and kniting or crosheting or embroider something. This was a big fabric probably was a kitchen courtain or somthing, had bunch of holes, so mom made this small pilowcase.

An old door to an old building that is out of use nowdays, unfortunatly.

Spring comes with many surprises. This chiks are one day old. aren't they cute? There were more on the way.

The one I am holding it was the first one. So I was kkeping him warm. On my head you see a headkerkief made from wool. This kind of headkerkiefs are very comon in the villages. They warm and comfortable, also natural. To bad they are not produced anymore.

Here it is in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. In front of Stefan The Great monument, at the Central Park, city workers are planting new flowers to make it beautiful. Easy time and thank for your hard work.

Bujor or Peony in English. This beautiful perfumed flowers that grow in mom's garden, are making our days more colorful during this pandemic times. The interesting part is that first one blooms the red peony, for a week or so. Then the pink peony, for another week. At last it's the white peony. Seems as a deal between them to bloom in turns to keep the garden colorful. Thank Heavens.

This are mom's tulips, or what's left of them. Because of the increase of mole's populations in the last 10 years (after the flood of Prut river), many plants/ flowers that have potato/onion based roots are disappearing, because they are a great feast for this moles. Villagers use various ways to get rid of them, buts its not working. So let's enjoy the flowers until still we have them.

Look at this strawberry flower. So gentle and pure. 2020 was a dry year, so the strawberries were smaller, but sweeter.

After 2 months of drought, it rained! Thank God! Everyone happy, including the plants and dirt itself. Mom try to arrange the gutters for water to be collected in the rain water pool. This water later it's used for watering the garden.

There was a war. There were soldier that died in the war. And they are unknown soldiers. This monument was financed by Romanian government. The soldiers also were Romanian.

And because the grass grows, I came and cleaned the place, to make it look more like a monument. I am glad for I did a good deed.

Here mom is planting tomato seedling and the Great Puf it is helping her. Work it's so hard.

Laundry day. I bring the kettle outside, vats, detergents, semiautomatic washing machine and buckets for the dirty water. One kettle of boiled water with 2-3 buckets of clean water and some detergent. This how washing day starts. The first to be thrown in the washer are the whites, after 30 min. taken out and put in the centrifuge to be drained, then put in the vat with clean water for rinsing. From rinsing again on the centrifuge then spread on the wire thread for drying. Meanwhile in the washer is thrown the next batch of laundry. Until the water gets dirty. The water then is drained and used for watering the garden. Anew water is added and goes on until the laundry or the day is finished.

This is Catalana. She is the home's security system. No one dares to enter through the gate until the owner comes. She does enjoy meats, but most times she is feed with a mix of boiled grains along with some fats and salt, to make it delicious and healthy.

This is a pleasant guest that I happen to encounter. The garden was full of them, but Negrutz, Puf's son, loves to hunt them. I don't see many anymore.

What you see here it's an apple flower. Awaiting for bees to come and pollinate. And then the apples will grow big and sweet.

Everything wants to survive! Even this tree after was cut of and put for drying, until still have juice, tries to vegetate. It is a willow little water and they grow fast.

Mom's goat this year had 2 goatlings.
